2. How do I install Formatting Solutions in Word 2003 or lower?
To install Formatting Solutions Pro follow the following procedure:
1. Insert disk into CD-ROM, setup should automatically start up.
2. If program does not automatically start up, go to your Start menu.
3. Choose "Run and Browse" to your CD Drive.
4. Click on setup.exe.
5. Answer the questions according to your preferences.
3. Do I need administrative rights to install Formatting Solutions?
You must have administrative rights to install the template. If you are the administrator, you must give the User temporary administrative rights to install the program.
4. What do I do if I don't want to give administrative rights to my Users?
The administrator can install the program and then copy the Information Mapping Templates Folder to the User's Microsoft Templates Folder.
5. How do I attach the Formatting Solutions toolbar to an existing document?
To use Formatting Solutions Pro (FS Pro) with an existing document, you must first attach the FS Pro template to the document. Choose the procedure below, based on the version of Formatting Solutions you are using.
Version 3
1. Click the "Attach FS Pro to document" button on the Quickstart toolbar.
Version 2.2 or lower:
1. Select Templates and Add-Ins from the Tools pull-down.
2. Click on the Attach... button.
3. Browse in the Information Mapping folder.
4. Locate the "infomappro.dot" template.
5. Highlight and click open.
6. Place a check mark in Automatically Updated Document Styles.
7. Click OK.
6. Can I customise my toolbar and my styles?
Information Mapping does NOT support templates that have been customised. Only styles can be customised using FS Pro Font Manager.
7. How do I change the security setting for my macros?
Microsoft Word has a built-in feature to automatically strip out macros during an install when the security setting is high. The security setting is set high by default.
Version 3
FS Pro Version 3 has been certified. This means that macros within this template can be accepted as a trusted source. When you first open Word after installing FS Pro 3, a dialog box appears and asks you if you want to "Enable Macros". Select "Yes".
Version 2.2 or lower
Follow these easy steps:
1. Go to the Tools menu.
2. Select Macro and then Security.
3. Change settings to Low.
4. Click OK.
5. Exit Word.
8. What do I do if my toolbar is missing?
If, after attaching the FS Pro template, you do not see the FS Pro toolbar, you should:
1. Go to View and Toolbars to see if the "Infomap" toolbar is checked.
2. Uninstall the template through the Control Panel and reinstall.
9.What do I do if I select an icon from the toolbar and nothing happens?
Make sure that the template is actually attached. To do this:
1. Select "Templates and Add-ins" from the "Tools" pull-down.
2. Check that the details in the Document Template are correct.
Note: The FS Pro template will not work if added as a Global Add-in. It must be the primary template.
10. How do I include Block labels in a Table of Contents?
The Table of Contents feature for all versions of Formatting Solutions prior to Version 2.2, includes Chapter Titles and Map Titles. To include Block Labels you will need to run the Table of Contents as follows:
1. Go to the Insert menu.
2. Choose Index & Tables.
3. Click the Table of Contents tab.
4. Change Formats: To choose "From Template."
5. Change Show Levels: to 5.
6. Click OK.
7. Rerun the Table of Contents.
